Peace Oriental Teahouse at the Parq features unique traditional woodworking and patterns that highlight the natural color of wood with fire, Shou Sugi Ban (焼杉板). Planks of pine wood were carefully burnt and placed into the wall by skillful woodworkers and craftsmen. The quality of Peace at the Parq comes from careful attention to different types and patterns of wood.
Each type of wood creates multiple accents to particular functions and spaces. Shadow line gently separates one pattern from another. Curved wooden wall humbly creates continuous wall surface to the space. Customized countertop with different extrusions serves several functions of tea masters. Textured and patterned stone floor inspired by traditional Chinese courtyard nevertheless elevates natural feelings to the space.
